Zoom teeth whitening, effects on your teeth?

Zoom teeth whitening is a procedure that is done at your convenience, right in your dentists office. Zoom teeth whitening is what was used on extreme make over. Zoom teeth whitening is known for getting your teeth the whitest white they have ever been. Zoom teeth whitening is a process that consists of your dentist or dental assistant using a whitening gel that contains hydrogen peroxide that is placed on your teeth and stays on for 3 to fifteen minutes per session. Then the dentist or dental assistant uses a laser light that produces a little bit of heat that is shined on your teeth. The whitening gel and a laser light work together to break up build up on your teeth that cause stains and discolorations without removing any of the tooth surfaces. After you have under gone the zoom teeth whitening treatment the dentist or dental assistant will then apply a fluoride treatment to finish the procedure.  Zoom teeth whitening treatment whitens teeth up to ten shades whiter. The whole process takes around an hour to complete.

The side effect that zoom teeth whitening has is increased tooth sensitivity to cold and hot during treatments. Usually these side effects go away within 1 to 3 days after treatment. You can also ask your dentist to recommend or even prescribe you anti-sensitivity tooth past before you have the zoom teeth whitening done as a precaution. You can also wait till after the zoom teeth whitening procedure to see if you have any side effect. If any side effect occur after the Zoom teeth whitening then you can then consult your dentist and get treatment,

When having the zoom teeth whitening treatment done the dentist or dental assistant must make sure all of the soft tissues around ones mouth are protected. The person performing the zoom teeth whitening procedure needs to monitor to make sure that exposed skin is protected also. If the zoom teeth whitening gel does come in contact with your gums or soft tissue it can cause some irritation.

Zoom teeth whitening will not whiten any dental work you have had done such as porcelain crowns, bridges, veneers, or porcelain fillings. All of these will stay the same color and will not match evenly with the color of your other teeth.

You will have to follow up with zoom teeth whitening treatment to keep your teeth white for years to come. Your teeth will always be whiter than they were before you did zoom teeth whitening. To keep your teeth at their whitest use the Zoom teeth whitening touch up treatments. Zoom teeth whitening treatments can be done at home either at night or on the weekends.

Different result using zoom teeth whitening varies from person to person. Having a thorough exam by your dentist will tell you if you are a candidate to have the Zoom teeth whitening procedure done.

Zoom teeth whitening treatment is safe for the most part and effective. Your teeth will be white but you need to do a little up keeping. To keep them white just make sure to do the touch ups. If you have any other problems after using zoom teeth whitening consult your dentist.

If you want more information about the zoom teeth whitening process or to see if you are a candidate that qualifies for zoom teeth whitening, call your dentist and schedule an appointment. If you don't have a dentist that offers Zoom teeth whitening you can always go online.

Some of the pros of bleaching your teeth are you have a brilliant white smile. People with whiter teeth tend to smile more because they have a higher self confidence. Advantages of dentist teeth whitening systems

How our teeth look makes an impression on other people. If you have stained or discolored teeth people tend to stare at your mouth rather than look you in the eyes when you are talking to them. That tends to make us self conscious about smiling, laughing or even talking.

The lack of self-esteem can affect our personal lives, as well as our business lives. If you never smile or laugh and if you try to talk without showing your teeth, you are sending of a silent message that people will receive. They will know you are not very confident in your dealings with people and will not trust you as much as they would with a person who is more outgoing. No matter the business that is not a good message to send, but if you have to interact with people on a daily basis, such as nursing or sale, you want to put your customers at ease, not scare them away.

The good news is there are ways to correct this problem, it is called teeth whitening. There are a variety of products out there that claim to whiten your teeth and most of them work, but not all of them will work fast enough for you. Whitening toothpaste that contains hydrogen peroxide will whiten your teeth, but it takes a long time to show the results. Gel strips work faster than the toothpaste and you get results faster but it can take up to fourteen days, the same holds true for over the counter tooth whitening systems.

Professional teeth whitening systems are performed in your dentist office and have some advantages over the do it yourself teeth whitening options. Here are some of the advantages.

Advantage one:
Get faster results. Dentist use a variety of teeth whitening systems and you can get the results you want in less time than an over the counter systems. Some systems can provide results in as little as one hour. But be aware it might take more than one treatment to get the results you want. Do not expect to see perfectly white teeth in one hour. How many treatments you need depends on the color of your teeth already.

Advantage two:
It is being done by a professional. Sure the at home teeth whitening systems are convenient and cost less than going to the dentist but going to a dentist can be safer. Dentists are professionally trained and can protect your teeth from further damage. Also they can tell you whether a teeth whitening system is good for you or not. Sometimes these systems can cause more harm than good.

Advantage three:
Professional kits contain a higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide. Professional products can contain anywhere between a fifteen to fifty percent concentration level, where as at home products usually only contain between three and ten percent. Since hydrogen peroxide is the main ingredient in getting whiter teeth, the higher the concentration the faster your results.

Advantage four:
Your dentist can give you an at home tooth whitening system to use along with the professional teeth whitening system. Most dentists will only treat your front teeth because they are easier to keep isolated, therefore your back teeth do not match your front teeth. By sending you home with an at home teeth whitening system, one that isn't as concentrated over time you can whiten your back teeth to match your front teeth. Just keep in mind if you have composite fillings your teeth can take on an unnatural look due to the difference in color with the filling and your natural teeth.

While professional cleaning is great for fast results you need to remember to maintain your teeth after having them whitened. Over the counter products such as whitening toothpaste can help you keep your smile whiter and brighter for a longer period of time.

5 tips for choosing an off the shelf teeth whitening system

More and more people are using cosmetic dentistry to help brighten their smile. People are now more self conscious about stains and discolorations, which has led to an increase in over the counter whitening systems sales. But what most consumers do not realize is that not all of these products work like they are supposed to. If you are concerned with your smile and are looking into using over the counter teeth whitening systems you need to read these tips before you proceed.

Tip one:
Find a teeth whitening system that includes a custom bleaching tray. Custom bleaching tray systems do cost more, but the extra money is worth the cost. Custom bleach trays are similar to what dentists use because they are custom made to fit your mouth alone. The system comes with impression materials and trays, you need to make your own impressions and then send them to the lab where they make personal trays to fit your teeth. Due to the fact that the trays are molded to your teeth it provides a better fit, which enables the whitening agents to do their job.

Tip two:
Make sure the system you choose contains hydrogen peroxide. The higher the amount of hydrogen peroxide content the more effective the system will be. Hydrogen peroxide is vital to the teeth bleaching process because it is bleaching out any organic deposits on your teeth's enamel, which turns the enamel whiter and gives you a better looking smile. Toothpaste that claims to whiten your teeth probably has hydrogen peroxide in the toothpaste, but because it is in such a small amount it will take you longer to get the effects you are looking for. The higher the concentration of hydrogen peroxide the faster you can get the results. Keep in mind you do not want to use the product for a long period of time because it can actually be bad for your teeth. You should only have to use the product as instructed, for example daily for fourteen days, and the effects should last for years, but this will only happy if you take proper care of your teeth.

Tip three:
Compare products. Although every product claims to work wonders in so many days or weeks, not all can meet their claims. Before choosing an over the counter teeth whitening system you should do some research on the products you are considering. Do not go to the manufacturer's website because you will not get an unbiased opinion. Instead make use of consumer websites where actual customers have tried the products and are giving you their honest opinion. Just five minutes of research can save you from being taken advantage of.

Tip four:
Know what you are looking for. Over the counter teeth whitening systems vary greatly in price and in results. If you want the results in the fastest time possible you will want to look at the time it is going to take to get those results. Also knowing how sensitive your teeth and gums are before choosing a system is a good idea. Bleaching kits can be hard on your teeth and gums so if you have super sensitive teeth and gums you might want to speak with your dentist about what products are right for you.

Tip five:
Compare product ingredients. Like toothpaste many over the counter teeth whitening systems have the same active ingredients. Before choosing a more expensive options take a look at the back of the box. Does it have the same active ingredients that the cheaper brands have? If so then you might want to consider the cheaper system. Effective teeth whitening systems should contain hydrogen peroxide as the main active ingredient. The higher the concentration the better the system will work.

Remember your dentist is your best resource for advice on choosing over the counter systems. They can advise you on which ones they think work and which ones they feel are a waste of time and money. So check with your dentist before making a final decision.

Do off-the shelf teeth whitening systems work?

Teeth whitening systems are all different. How do you decide to go to the dentist for a teeth whitening system or you local drug store. Teeth whitening systems contain different amounts of bleach. So the question is, do off-the shelf teeth whitening systems work? You decide.

Off-the shelf teeth whitening systems have been proven to whiten teeth up to five shades white than your natural color teeth. Off-the shelf whitening systems usually have to be applied more than one or two times. Some off-the shelf whitening systems have to be applied for seven to ten days. Off-the shelf teeth whitening systems also make your teeth sensitive and can irritate your gums. Sensitivity from off-the shelf teeth whitening systems usually go away after discontinued use of the teeth whitening system.

Some off-the shelf teeth whitening systems come with trays that you put whitening gel in. You then stick the trays on your teeth like you would a mouth guard. Sometimes this is difficult because the off-the shelf teeth whitening systems come with a one fits all tray. There are some off-the shelf teeth whitening systems that you can make a cast of your teeth and then send it in to the company to have a tray manufactured to custom fit your teeth. There are also off-the shelf teeth whitening systems that have trays that you boil and bite which will make the tray form to your teeth. Off-the shelf teeth whitening systems trays are also usually bigger and bulkier than dentist made trays.  Using the trays from the off-the shelf teeth whitening systems can also cause irritation from the gel leaking out due to the fact that the trays do not fit your teeth as snuggly as they should. Also if your teeth are out of line you may not get the even color white a crossed all of your teeth. The color may very and be darker in some spots that in others. It just depends on how much you want to spend on off-the shelf teeth whitening systems.

Off-the shelf teeth whitening systems can only bleach an absorbent enamel tooth. Some people have harder or less absorbent teeth so the off-the shelf teeth whitening systems will not work on some teeth. Also leaving teeth whitening systems on to long can cause damage such as sensitivity to your teeth and gums. Also using off-the shelf teeth whitening systems too much will cause your teeth to turn a tint of blue. You teeth will become so transparent they will look a blue-gray color.

If you are going to do a off-the shelf teeth whitening system make sure to get the trays that you can be custom fit for your mouth.  Also make sure that it does contain true whitening agencies in it. Off-the shelf whitening systems can be a success as far as achieving whiter teeth. You teeth might not be as white as they would be at the dentist but they will be whiter than they started out to be.

Off-the shelf teeth whitening systems will not make the dental work you have had done whiter. For example bridges, crowns, and fillings. Dental work like the ones just mentioned will stay the same color. Even if you get your teeth bleached at the dentist office your previous dental work will stay the same.  So to get whiter teeth you can spend tons of money at the dentist or just go to your local drug store and get an off-the shelf teeth whitening system and still get whiter teeth than what you started with.
